First announcement and call for papers: 2nd Latin American & Caribbean Conference On Theoretical And Applied Mechanics (LACCOTAM 2012)

LACCOTAM 2012 is the second conference organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Congress for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, an IUTAM affiliated organization. It continues the aim of the LACCOTAM to bring together researchers and scientists of the region for communicating recent and projected advances in all fields of theoretical and applied mechanics.

The conference will have a strong and diverse program covering a wide range of topics. The conference will provide an excellent opportunity for researchers to present their work, share ideas with a scientific and technical audience and also to review current industry needs. Theoretical developments as well as reports on experimental advancements in the field are welcome.

The conference will run over three days, and will feature presentations by the authors of all accepted papers, as well as, plenary and keynote speaker by leading international experts. The conference will take place in Caracas, Venezuela. A poster session will be incorporated. In addition, there will be three Symposia, one in Clean Energies, other in Multi-Phase Flow and another in Sediments Transport, as well as, a Student Session.
